Earned his PhD in Clinical Psychology from UND in 1962. was psychologist, clinical director and executive director of Upper Mississippi Mental Health Center. Married Connie Simenson on September 26, 1993. Was widowed a second time on May 3, 2001. Married Petra Hegstad on July 13, 2012.
