To confuse the matter further, there were several Cox families living both in New Castle Co., Delaware as well as Chester Co., Pennsylvania at that time. A John Cox was received at Newark MM from Berkshire, England in Sep 1708 with his family unnamed. There was also a Thomas Cox who came from Sedburgh MM, Gloucestershire in 1714 as well as a Richard and a William Cox who came over at about the same time. So it seems we may never know Amy's true lineage.
Though we may not know her parentage, we are grateful for the nine children she bore: John II, Rebecca, Emey/Amy, Elizabeth, William, Joseph, Mary, Phebe and Benjamin. (see photo)
Amy's burial at London Grove FBG is assumed at this point.
Some of the details for this information are are culled from the published biography "The Allen Family," by Lester M. Allen.
