Lake Arthur: The family and friends of Priscilla Z. Hanks are mourning the loss of their loved one who was called from this life on Friday, February 14, 2014 at the age of 58. Priscilla was born in Gueydan, LA to the late Julian and Laura Broussard Zaunbrecher on June 25, 1955. She was the office manager of Intertek in Lake Arthur, LA. Priscilla never met a stranger and loved her job. She took great care of her family. She loved them all dearly especially her two grandchildren.
Priscilla is survived by her beloved husband, Lionel Hanks of Lake Arthur, LA; one son, Jene Julian Hanks of Lake Arthur, LA; two daughters, Leah Nan Broussard (partner, Danika Lopez) of Holmwood, LA and Lauren Michelle Hanks of Lake Arthur, LA; two brothers, Zachary Zaunbrecher (Cathy) of Thornwell, LA and Gregory "Butch" Zaunbrecher (Christine) also, of Thornwell, LA; and two beautiful grandchildren, Tatum Julian Hebert and Amaishya Marae Hanks; Priscilla also leaves behind numerous friends she held dear to her heart, but a very special thank you to her lifelong friend, Alice Guidry and her husband Rhett.
Priscilla is preceded in death by her parents, Julian and Laura Zaunbrecher; one daughter, Megan Michelle Hanks; one nephew, Zachary "Little Zack" Zaunbrecher; her father-in-law, Aristille "Bee" Hanks; and mother-in-law, Belle Hundley.
A Mass of Christian burial honoring her life will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Lake Arthur, LA on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 2:00 PM with Reverend Emanuel Tanu officiating. Burial will follow in Thornwell Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will be held at the Matthews and Son Funeral Home in Lake Arthur, LA on Sunday, February 16th from 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a rosary recited at 7:00 PM. Visiting hours will resume on Monday at 8:00 AM until the time of her funeral Mass.
Serving as pallbearers will be Hillary Klumpp, Ronnie Gaspard, Lark Dale Broussard, Randy Johnson, Chance Duhon and Darren LeGros. Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Meaux, Brandon Abshire, Jimmy Poole and Joby LaComb.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Matthews & Son Funeral Home.
