Her baptismal name was Mary (no middle name) but her family and friends always called her Marie. She was a first generation American, her folk's were born in Europe. Her ancestry was Baden German from her father and Cork Irish from her mother. She grew to womanhood and in 1927 she married neighbor Walter LaBore.
Marie and Walt lost their first two children as infants, both boys. They are buried in the Dorr family plot at St. Mary Cemetery in White Bear Lake. Two daughters followed, in 1931, Patricia Ann (Bohaty) and in 1934 Joanne Carol (Peterson) were born.
She lost her husband Walt at an early age from double pneumonia and raised her two girls as a single parent. She worked until age 62 retiring from Northwestern Bell Co. when she went back to work for another ten years as a Burlington Northern RR dispatcher and received a second pension.
Marie had wonderful health her whole life. She was 5'4.5" with blue eyes and brown hair turned white as she aged. She always had a great figure, impeccable posture and kept herself in good shape and looked her best, a wonderful fun person to know and accompany. She lived to be 94 years old.
