KERRVILLE - Carl F. Allen, 91, a resident of Kerrville for 22 years, passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004, in a local nursing home. He was a prior resident of Brownsville, TX.
Carl was born Nov. 4, 1913, in Richfield, Morton County, Kansas, to Homer Gude Allen and Agnes Kaye (Kriegh) Allen. He married Allene R. Jennings on Nov. 26, 1999, at Trinity Baptist Church in Kerrville.
Carl was a store manager for HEB Grocery Company for 35 years. He was a 50-year member of the Rio Grande Lodge No. 81 in Brownsville and had served as Worshipful Master and was a member of the Kerrville Masonic Chapter No. 305 and Council No. 240, member of the Knights Templar of Texas, Corpus Christi Commandery No. 57, was a life sponsor of the Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Inc., of San Benito, member of Knights of York-Cross of Honor and life member of Texas Priory No. 23. He also was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife of five years, of Kerrville; daughter, Dorothy , of Kerrville; sister, Nella and husband, Warren, of El Paso; three granddaughters, Carolyn , of Austin, Sharron Lee , of Van Alstyne, TX, and Patricia Ann of Paris, TX; two great-grandchildren, Parks and Madison Kaye, both of Austin; and three step-great-grandchildren, Joshua, Rachael and Sarah , all of Pearland.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Alice McGrew.
Services will be Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, 11 a.m. at Grimes Funeral Chapels, officiated by Dr. John Petty. A Masonic graveside service will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. Masons will serve as pallbearers.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Grimes Funeral Chapels of Kerrville.
