They were married in the Baptist faith by Rev. Elkanah Fuller. Abraham Covalt was a British soldier during the Storming of Martinique circa 1762. After marriage the couple had migrated to Bedford Co., PA. where they remained until 1790. By 1791, Captain Covalt was killed at Anderson by the Indians, leaving his wife and children in the wilderness. Their youngest child was just five years old when the captain died.
