Mavis Irene Danel Evans
1935 - 2014

Early Life: Mavis was born on June 6, 1935, to Raymond Danel and Nellie Bankhead Danel in Galena, Kansas. As a young girl, her family moved to California where she attended school in Antelope Valley.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: On July 9, 1961, Robert A. "Bob" Evans, along with his daughter, Terri, proposed to Mavis and her four daughters: Dale, Debbie, Sam, and Carol. Bob and Mavis were married in Las Vegas, Nevada; their newly blended family made their home in Palmdale, California. Shortly thereafter, Mavis and Bob welcomed their new son, Bobby Wayne. After four years of marriage, they completed their family when they welcomed their newly adopted son, Dean, becoming a family of nine. In 1975, they retired and moved to Hamilton, Montana, where both Bob and Mavis lived until their passing. They enjoyed many years of bowling leagues, numerous Hawaiian vacations, countless hours of card games, marbles and dice. Mavis loved her poker machines, her Randy Travis CDs, and was a member and frequent donor of the Eagles Lodge. Mavis came from a very large family and was one of ten children. Her greatest joy in life rested in the lives of her enormous family, a legacy that she has passed on down through multiple generations. She taught her loved ones that family isn't always blood, but rather it is the people in your life who want you in theirs; it's the ones who accept you for who you are and would do anything to see you smile and choose to love you unconditionally. It was not uncommon to drive by her home and see upwards of ten cars parked out front from visiting family members, or see her rocking a baby to sleep night after night. Love was the cornerstone of her family and something she instilled in each and every one of her children. She taught them that having a place to go is a home, having someone to love is a family, but having both is a blessing. Mavis Irene Evans, of Hamilton, Montana, went home to be with our Lord on February 11, 2014. She was 78.
Survived By: Her daughters: Terri Handley, Debbie Evans, Brenda (Sam) Hanson, Carol Sarantopulos; her son, Dean Evans; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Preceded In Death By: Her husband, Robert Evans; son, Bobby Wayne Evans; and daughter, Dale Thompson.
Services: Daly-Leach Chapel
