April 2, 1922 - February 8, 2014 It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother Bertha, on February 8, 2014.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Glenn, mother Harriet, father Albert and siblings Harriet, Hilda, Eunice and Albert.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her four children Dean (Elsie), Graham (Pat), Heather, and Ken (Marilyn) Forester, eight grandchildren, Lisa (Roy) Seamark, Wade (Terri) Forester, Clayton and Lori Forester, Kari (Tom) Herbison, Glenn Harasym, Nathan and Marina Forester, five great-grandchildren, Alexa, Naomi, Quade, Zane and Jackson, and many nieces and nephews.
Bertha was the youngest of five children born to Harriet and Albert Rae and was raised in the Great Sandhills near Portreeve, SK.
She married her husband, Glenn, on October 10, 1940 and they settled in the Portreeve community where they farmed and raised their four children together for 31 years.
After Glenn's death in 1972, Bertha moved to Saskatoon to start a new life but retained and continued to manage the family farm. She was fiercely independent and worked hard to support herself.
In the early 80s, she opened Bertha's Wallpaper Patch, which she ran until her retirement in the late 90s. Bertha loved life and family and was extremely proud of all their achievements.
