Marvin graduated from Rensselaer High School, the class of 1946. He was a self-employed grain & livestock farmer for over 50 years. On Aug. 22, 1948, he married Dorothy J. Phegley who survives.
Marvin served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. He was an active member of the American Legion Post #280, Remington, the V.F.W. Post #1279, Rensselaer, and 40-8 Voiture Local #1251. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Marvin was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed fishing up in Minnesota and hunting. He also enjoyed spending time with his grand-kids.
Marvin is survived by: his loving wife, Dorothy J. (Phegley), a daughter, Joni Reiter of Westborough, MA, and two sons Randy (Marie) DeWees and Jerry (Shelley) DeWees, both of Rensselaer.
He is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters and two brothers.
Private family services for Marvin will be held at a later date.
Jackson Funeral Chapel of Rensselaer has been entrusted with services.
