On October 16th of that year, Malta assisted Master Sergeant John C. Woods, in carrying out the hangings of ten top defendants from that trial in one night in the gymnasium of Nuremberg's Landsberg Prison.
"These were the ones that gave the orders," Malta later reflected. "They weren't sorry for anything."
Malta ultimately hanged a total of 60 Nazi government and military leaders.
