Meredith June (Broekema) Moore, 84, went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 17, 2013 in Arlington, WA. Meredith was born on August 3, 1929 in Bozeman, MT, the third of nine children of William and Dorothy (Ungersma) Broekema. She is survived by Chester Moore, her husband of 64 years. Meredith enjoyed her role as a homemaker and taking care of her family while Chet worked shift work at Weyer haeuser Pulp and Paper. She loved to entertain family and friends and many wonderful family traditions were started by her. One of them being our families' progressive dinner during the Christmas season. Meredith wanted all of us to see each others homes while decorated for the holiday season. This was always fun and included her special niece, Vicki Chrisman. Over the years, Meredith had many hobbies including hiking, bowling, cooking and baking, gardening, canning, singing and playing the piano, antiquing, quilting and working at the Farmer's Market in Silvana. She was also interested in the people she met and she never met a stranger. She will be remembered for her love of family and faith in her Lord. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother known as Grandma Moore, and great grandmother affectionately called Grandma Kiki. Meredith attended Anchor of Hope Community Church of Stanwood, WA, where her Christian family was very important to her. She loved attending church. Meredith is survived by her faithful husband, Chester; their three children, Chuck (Debby), Greg (Kathleen) and Jill (Gary) Burt; grandchildren, Aaron, Lani, Jeff, Leisha, Kyla, Haley, Gregory, Brad and Brittany; and her great-grandchildren, Brock, Ty, Preslee, Holland, Elliot, London, Liliana, Keegan and Taylor. She is also survived by two brothers, Morrie and Willis Broekema; three sisters, Jerita Andrieson, Marcia Hogue and Irma Tiffany; plus many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Dorothy Broekema; brother, Howard Broekema; and her sisters, Genevieve Voulkos and Dorothy Walden. Following a private internment, a memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Arlington, 426 N. French Ave., on December 28, 2013 at 1:30 p.m.
