Mrs. Pauline Shepherd Austin, 90, died Tuesday, August 31, 2010. She was a longtime resident of Peachland in the White Store Community.

Pauline was born November 6, 1919 in Anson County, NC, a daughter of the late David F. and Beulah Harrington Shepherd. She was educated at the Elisabeth Finlay School of Nursing at Anson Sanitorium in the late 1930s to become a much-respected registered nurse.

In addition to her parents,she was preceded in death by her husband, Relle B. Austin, her son David R. Austin, and by her sister and brother, Ollie Shepherd and Norman Shepherd. Surviving are her nieces, Norma Shepherd and Susan Smoot & husband Norris Holmes. She also leaves countless others whose lives she touched with her loving care.

Services will be 11:00 am Friday September 2, 2010 by the graveside in Anson Memorial Park alongside her family.
