Gertrude T. Watkins, 78, of Marietta died Sunday, Aug. 31, 2003. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Marietta, with the Rev. Samuel Porras officiating. Burial will be in Cheatham Hill Memorial Park cemetery in Marietta. A Massachusetts native, Mrs. Watkins retired from PLRM Insurance as an administrative assistant. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Robert "Bob" Watkins; two sons, Robert Watkins Jr. of Charlottesville, Va., and Hugh Watkins of Woodstock; four daughters, Donna Olsson of Davis, Calif., Barbara Beavers of Loganville, Carolyn Townsend of Jefferson and Andrea Watkins of Brattleboro, Vt.; and 12 grandchildren. Contributions may be made to the National Jewish Medical & Research Center, P.O. Box 5898, Denver, CO 80127. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta.
