A native of Moore, he was the son of Samuel Ovid and Dillie Pearson and the husband of Ruby Joyce (Stewart) Pearson for 56 years.
Mr. Pearson attended The Church of God of Prophecy in Greer.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Julie Steadman (Jerry) of Greer; three grandsons, Wayne, Paul, and Daniel Steadman; and six great-grandchildren, Samantha, Jacob, Noah, Cole, Melanie, and Alyssa Steadman.
He was predeceased by three brothers, Andrew, Vester, and Roy Pearson; and four sisters, Bertha Gregory, Bernice Deyoung, Laler Millwood and Cora Lee Pearson.
Funeral services were held 2:00 PM Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at The Stribling Funeral Home Chapel.
The family received friends from 1:00-2:00 PM prior to the service. Interment was at Westwood Memorial Gardens.
