Son of John Beaty, II and Susanna Mansfield.
John married Elizabeth Mary Prince and had the following children:
Rebecca Beaty Conway 1786-1830
Sarah Jane Beaty Norman 1791-1881
John Hanson Beaty 1793-1867
Elizabeth Beaty 1785-1867 never married
Thomas Akin Beaty 1798-1853
Margaret Beaty Anderson 1800-abt 1858?
James S. Beaty 1804-1858
Mary Harriett Beaty Cooper 1807-1884
There is also believed they had several other children that died in infancy..names which I do not know.

John Beaty, III served in the Rev. War. He served in the 4th South Carolina Regiment of the Continenal Line, under the command of Lt. Col. Barnard Beekman.
He was a Col. in the Militia or Hussars.
In 1807 he served as the Constable of Conway, SC.
In 1811 he served at sheriff for 4yrs in Conway, Sc.
In 1817 he served as Clerk of Court of Sessions and Common Pleas for Horry district for 4 yrs.
In Jan. 1821 he was elected Clerk of Court of General Sessions and Common Pleas of Horry District.
John lived in what we now call Conway, SC. He lived in the Lot known as Dr. Evan Norton's lot. On this lot was the first jail built in Conway. There was also an old fashioned 2 story house built for the sheriff to live in or near the jail.

John Beaty, III died in 1837 and is said to be buried in Kingston Lake Cemetery (Beaty Burial Ground).
