Raymond R. Johnson Sr.

Raymond R. Johnson Sr.,75, Topeka, died Monday, Aug. 20, 1990, at a Topeka hospital.
Mr. Johnson was a pharmaceutical salesman, first for McKesson and Robbins Pharmaceutical Co., in Denver and later for McPike Inc., of Kansas City. He retired in 1984. He previously played professional football four years for the Chicago Bears and St. Louis Gunners.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, having served in India.

He was born Oct. 16, 1914, at Wheat Ridge, Colo., the son of Ludwig and Audrey Tigerstrand Johnson, and grew up in Colorado. He was graduated from Denver University where he played football four years. He moved to Topeka in 1951.
Mr. Johnson was a member of Seabrook Lodge No. 385, AF&AM, in Topeka, and Denver University Alumni Club.

He was married to Gertrude Budesheim Nov. 24, 1939, at Cheyenne, Wyo. She died June 24, 1986.
Survivors include two sons, Raymond R. Johnson Jr., Topeka, and Randy Johnson, Overbrook; a brother, Orville L. Johnson, Denver, Colo.; and five grandchildren.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
