Born in Clinton county, he was married in 1892 to Minerva Sheets, who died in 1925. He had been employed at the Monon shops in Lafayette a number of years and was a member of the machinists' union. He also was a member of the Eagles lodge. For the last few years he had been living in Saginaw.
Surviving besides the son are a daughter, Mrs. Eugene Cowgill of Merchantsville, N. J. and three brothers, Eldo, Elva and Russell, all of Mulberry. Also surviving are four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at the Rogers-Myers Funeral Home in Lafayette Monday with burial in the Fair Haven cemetery, Mulberry.
