Paul was born the son of Ben and Loretta Imhof Hofer on July 8, 1937 in Elgin, IA and married to Patience Spinler.
Survivors include his wife, Patience, three daughters, Debra Hofer of North Liberty, Teresa Wegmuller of Center Point and Paulette Knight of Coggon, two sons, Paul Hofer, Jr.,of Douds, and Calvin Hofer of Cedar Rapids, four brothers, John of Randalia, Alfred, State Center, Ben of Central City and Sam of Wadena, a suster mary Ann Pfister of Elgin and a half sister Helen Denzin of Buffalo, SD, also 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Paula who died in infancy, a sister Rose Hofer and two half brothers anda half sister.
Burial in the Coggon Cemetery, Coggon, Iowa.
