Rosie Louise Bludau, 89, of Hallettsville, passed away Friday, February 7, 2014. She was born to Joseph J. & Katherina Grahmann Haas on October 30, 1924 in Hallettsville. She married Herbert Andrew Bludau on November 26, 1946 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville. She was a member of Christian Mother's Society since 1959, Sacred Heart Quilting Circle, volunteer at Lavaca Medical Center for many years, and lifelong member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Hallettsville

Rosie attended Sacred Heart Catholic School through 10th Grade, and graduated from Hallettsville High School. She was employed as Secretary at Sacred Heart Catholic School, and also a long time employee of Stevens Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a whiz at the Victoria Advocate Crossword Puzzles, playing dominoes, loved to garden and can her home-grown veggies and pickles, and bake up a batch of her special recipe of "Ranger" cookies. She was an avid fan of the Houston Astros.

Rosie is survived by her nine children: Harold Bludau & wife Judy of Round Rock, Connie Bludau of Kenedy, Carolyn Svetlik & husband Larry of Hallettsville, Laurence Bludau & wife Carol of Hallettsville, Elaine Welch & husband Marv of Hearne, Mark Bludau & wife Gayle of Fairchilds, Randy Bludau of Katy, Terry Bludau and Alan Bludau of Hallettsville; 12 grandchildren, Cheri Goodloe, Michelle Snowden, Heather Ashley, Justin and Chad Svetlik, Ashley Grahmann, Jason and Brandon Bludau, Jeff Welch, Megan and Tyler Bludau, and Brittany Bludau; 13 great grandchildren; and one sister, Magdalene (Lena) Steffek.

Rosie was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herbert Bludau on February 4, 1994; infant son Joseph; daughter-in-law Brenda Orsak Bludau; three brothers, Frank, Louis and Leo Sr. Haas; and five sisters, Minnie Schraer, Annie Leopold, Agnes Bludau, Cecilia Ogle, and Mary Kolos.

Pallbearers (grandsons): Justin Svetlik, Chad Svetlik, Jason Bludau, Brandon Bludau, Jeff Welch, and Tyler Bludau. Honorary Pallbearers: Granddaughters and their spouses.

Burial: Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery.
