MRS. FLO B. SHEFFLER, 77, a resident of the Quincy United Methodist Home, formerly of 7899 Monn Drive and the widow of Joseph N. Sheffler, Sr., died at 8:06 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, in the Waynesboro Hospital.
She had been in failing health for the last year and was critically ill since being admitted to the nursing home in August. She was last admitted to the hospital on Sept. 30.
Born July 7, 1908 in Quincy Township, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Pearl (Bonner) Blubaugh. She lived most of her life in the Tomstown area.
She and her husband were married in June, 1923.
Mrs. Sheffler lived at the Monn Drive residence from 1934 until March, 1984, when she moved to Waynesboro to live with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Fred White, 230 Clayton Ave.
For a number of years, she was employed by Knouse Food Co. in Orrtanna.
Her husband died in April, 1970.
Mrs. Sheffler was a member of the Blue Rock United Brethren Church. She was also a member of Waynesboro Chapter AARP.
Surviving are four children: Mrs. Betty Wooden, Rockville, Md.; Richard B. Sheffier and Mrs. Judith White, both of Waynesboro; and Marvin L. Sheffier, Oliver Springs, Tenn.; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Clara Hykes, Waynesboro; and three half-sisters: Mrs. Florence Steil, Fayetteville, Mrs. Gene Taylor, Baltimore; and Mrs. Haidee Kalusky, Brooklyn, N.Y.
Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the Grove Funeral Home, with the Rev. Irvin Shultz and the Rev. Carl Buterbaugh officiating. Burial will be in the Quincy Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
