John Adams married Helen Reaser and Idra O. Adams married Cecil Reaser, Sr., making their children double first cousins to each other.
While in Gilmer Co., WV, for a while, John and Helen Adams lived along Rt. 5, about 300 yards east of the mouth of Leading Creek. Later they lived at what was known as the "Fairground Addition" which was along Rt. 5, east of Glenville, Gilmer Co., WV.
John moved to the Clarksburg area, Harrison County, where took a job with Pittsburgh Plate Glass Company, where he worked for the next 23 years. They lived at various places in Clarksburg, Stonewood and Nutter Fort.
John and Helen were members of the Nutter Fort Baptist Church
