Barbara Koss of Hampshire for 40 years Funeral services for Barbara Koss, 73, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Laird Funeral Home, 120 S. Third St., West Dundee. Born June 23, 1929, in Elgin, the daughter of John and Kathryn (nee App) Ballman, she passed away Monday, Aug. 5, 2002, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Burial will be in Algonquin Cemetery. Surviving are her husband, William A. Koss of Hampshire, whom she married March 12, 1949; children, Linda Koss, William J. Koss, Patti Koss (Matt Yeazell) and Mary (Carl) Thompson, all of Elgin, Kathy Buresh and Fred Koss, both of South Elgin, Ed W. Koss of Sycamore, Helen (Mike) Cassettari of Hampshire and Emma Koss of Lake in the Hills; brother, Howard (Mary) Ballman of Elgin; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ecker Center in Elgin.
