CEDARTOWN-Early Prentice Burkhalter, 72, Rte. 2, died early Saturday morning in a Rome hospital.
Mr. Burkhalter was born Sept. 14, 1908, in Polk County where he had lived most of his life. He was a trustee and deacon of the Oak Grove Baptist Church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Wilkerson Burkhalter of Cedartown; one son, W. E. Burkhalter, Cedartown; two daughters, Mrs. Charles Brock and Mrs. Kermit Bussey, both of Cedartown; one brother, Leonard Burkhalter, Cedartown; two sisters, Mrs. James Garrard, Powder Springs and Mrs. Ed Weaver, Gadsden, Ala.; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. today in the Oak Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. B. C. Clark and Billy Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
