Civil War Veteran of Company D, 53rd Indiana Infantry.

Warren Askren was born on 2 Feb 1833 in Harrison County, IN to David Askren(1797-1861)and Nancy Davis Askren (1798-1889). He married Elizabeth Jane aka Eliza Ballard (1835-1901)on 26 Sep 1854 in Crawford County, IN.

Warren and Elizabeth were the parents of William Kendall(my great grandfather), Mary Etta, Joseph, David T, Ashbel Willard, Charles M., Rovilla Jane, John E., Daniel Spencer and Nancy.

Eliza Jane was buried in Olive Branch Cemetery in Lawrence County, Illinois. She died 3 July 1901.
