Casey James O'Neal, passed peacefully as a result of complications following a brain surgery to remove a tumor. Casey was a strong, stubborn, loving man who leaves behind his wife Amy and children Brinley (5) and Boston (3) who were his greatest joys of his life. Those who knew Casey knew that he was a man of few words but listened closely and took it all in. Casey grew up in Henderson NV with his brother Joe. Casey was a star basketball player at Basic High and continued to play at Southern Utah and BYU Hawaii. He served a mission for the LDS Church in New Jersey. Casey was employed by the Salt Lake County Sheriffs department for 15 yrs. He loved his job very much.
He is survived by his wife Amy, children, Brinley and Boston, brothers, Joe (Alisyn), Tab, Derran, Shawn, and sisters Lori and Karin.
Preceded in death by his father Lyman.
A viewing will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2014 from 5:00-7:00 at the Sunset Ridge 9th Ward, 8137 So. Echo View Dr. (6261 W.), West Jordan, UT. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 pm. Ice cream will be served for family and friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers an account for the children has been established at Mountain America Credit Union. We would like to give a special Thank You to all the staff at IMC, Woodland Park, and Country Life Care Center who cared for Casey. Much gratitude to neuro surgeon Dr. Mark Riechman for everything he did for Casey. Directors Independent Funeral Service.
