PONTOTOC – W.L. "Dub" Abbott, 70, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2014, at his home. He was a Vietnam War veteran and a member of Montgomery Chapel Church of God of Prophecy in Pontotoc. He enjoyed welding, breaking horses and outdoor activities before he became sick. He loved his family and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 7, at Montgomery Chapel Church of God of Prophecy in Pontotoc. Bro. Wayne Thorn and Bro. James Gray will be officiating. Burial will be in the Springville Cemetery. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Ann Martin Abbott; two daughters, Lori Reeves (Terry) and Amanda Grubbs (Jason); son, Marty Abbott (Tanya Jolly); brother, O.L. Abbott Jr.; five grandchildren, Jamie Bryant, Will Reeves, Jayce Grubbs, Jayden Miller and Corbin Abbott, all of Pontotoc; mother-in-law, Syble Owen Martin; and numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ocie and Mable Abbott; sister, Barbara Abbott; and father-in-law, Johnie Martin.

Pallbearers will be Billy Belk, Ted Foster, Terry Foster, Frankie Patterson, Tim Morris, Lynn Montgomery, Tommy Montgomery, Lynn Martin and Mike Martin.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the church.

Memorial donations can be made to Pontotoc County 4-H or Montgomery Chapel Church.
