Lucinda was the daughter of John Paul Durley and Rebecca Gatlin. It is said that Lucinda moved from Lincoln County, Tennessee with her husband Robert Nelson Holcomb to Lafayette County, Mississippi. Here several of her children were born before they moved to Houston County, Texas.
On the 1870 Houston County Census we find three of Holcomb Family members, all living next door to each other, Steve age 32 and Mary Holcomb Vaughan age 27 both born in Mississippi, Robert N age 69 born in Tennessee. The next household we find AA Holcomb age 25 born in Mississippi; the next household we find RN Holcomb age 34 born in Mississippi living with his sister Hulda age 27 born in Mississippi. We do not find Lucinda. It is quiet possible she is living with another one of her children.
Another one of Lucinda's daughter Sarah Jane was married to Eli Brunson. We are still looking to see where John Kinchen and Virginia settled.
