The family of a 15-year-old boy shot and killed outside a Boys and Girls Club in West Oakland is asking the public to come forward with information about the gunman.
Teenager Denzel Jones and a 35-year-old relative were killed near 24th and Market Street around 10:45 on Saturday night. Sharda Macon, the sister of Denzel, returned to the crime scene Sunday afternoon where she was flooded with emotion. The young woman said that she was driving home on Saturday night when she got a call from a relative who said Denzel had been shot. Macon rushed to the crime scene to find her mother already there.
Authorities blocked off the area near the Boys and Girls Club for several hours overnight. Oakland Police have no suspects and no motive.
An anonymous neighborhood resident said that there have been several shootings over the years in the same area, and that community concern was at the highest he had seen it during his time as a resident of the area.

Oakland Police and Crime Stoppers are offering up to $20,000 to anyone with information that can lead to an arrest. Tips can be reported anonymously by calling (510) 777-8572.
