Funeral services for Mary Ellen Barry, 79, of Lufkin will be held in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Fielder Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Barry was born October 3, 1934 in Gary, Texas to the late Samuel Ernest and Julia Murle (Heaton) Blake, and died Saturday, February 1, 2014 in a local hospital.
Formerly of Shreveport, Louisiana, Mrs. Barry had resided in Lufkin since 1984. She was a painter and a member of the Lufkin Art Guild. Mrs. Barry was a member of the Chestnut Drive Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband of 38 years, Bruno Joseph Barry of Lufkin; daughter, Teresa Rowe of Lufkin; sons, Reagan Rowe of Lufkin, Greg Rowe of Cooper and Ernest Palmer of Lufkin; granddaughters, Heather Gilbert of Pearland, Rachael Gilbert of Lufkin and Amanda Rowe of Peerlis; grandsons, Chris Gilbert of Louisville, Kentucky, Josh Rowe of Lufkin, Jared Rowe and wife Jentry of Huntington and Jordan Rowe and wife Kasey of Killeen; numerous great-grandchildren; and sister, Rose Ella Forsythe of Lufkin.
