Mr. Austin was born in Chester, son of the late Durham G. and Beulah Wilson Austin. An Army veteran of World War II and a retired employed of Megastar, he was a member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors are his brothers, Maurice H. Austin of Blackstock and James A. Austin of Chester; four sisters, Mrs. Vivian Peak of Columbia and Mrs. Dorothy Dickey, Mrs. Melda Conrad, and Mrs. Margaret Gladden.
