Helon Sullins, age 85, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday morning, February 1, 2014 at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in West, with Dr. John Crowder officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Garden of Memory in Hillsboro. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home in West.

Helon was born October 12, 1928 in Bosque County, the daughter of James and Lois (Smith) Johnson. She attended Aquilla schools. On August 14, 1948 she was united in marriage to Delmer Leonard Sullins in West.

Helon was a homemaker and enjoyed traveling and taking Sunday drives. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and attending their activities and games. She was a member of First Baptist Church of West.

Helon is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Jamie Johnson; two sisters, Joyce Hummell and Jonnie Ayres; and a son-in-law, Ronnie Pustejovsky.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 65 years, Delmer Sullins of Hillsboro; two daughters, Linda Smith and husband Mike of Lake Jackson and Delma Sue Karlik and husband Frank of Abbott; two sons, Tim Sullins and wife Caroline of Hillsboro and Kim Sullins and wife Janna of Tolar; a brother, Gary Johnson and wife Ella; a sister, Shirley Ann Reed; a brother-in-law, Rudy Hummell; nine grandchildren, Brady Smith, Blair White and husband Jared, Corey Pustejovsky and wife Anne; Amy Hajek and husband Louis, Erika Karlik, Tyler Sullins, Taylor Sullins, Ashley Kirkpatrick, and Megan Gfeller and husband Cody; seven great-grandchildren, Amelie, Juliette, Camille, Ava, Luke, Raiven and Braylee; and several nieces nephews other relatives and friends.

Active pallbearers are Brady Smith, Tyler Sullins, Cory Pustejovsky, Daniel Johnson, Cody Gfeller, Michael Reed and Cole Little. Honorary pallbearers are Larry Little, Blair White, Taylor Sullins, Megan Gfeller, Ashley Kirkpatrick, Amy Hajek, Erika Karlik and Ronnie Reed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of West, Alzheimer's Association or Bluebonnet Hospice.
