Harry A. Kandziorski, age 80, U.S. Army Ranger Veteran WWII, late of New Lenox formerly of South Holland and South Chicago. Beloved husband for 58 years of Ruth, nee Kolinski; loving father of Jerry, Tom (Dorothy) Kandziorski, Linda (Roger) Arbogast, Al (Kerry) Kandziorski and Susan (Jacob) Andropolis; proud grandfather of eleven and great-grandfather of four; devoted son of the late Steven and Harriet, nee Jablonski, Kandziorski; kind uncle of many nieces and nephews. Retired from U.S. Steel with 38 years of dedicated service.

In July 2013, the Congressional Gold Medal was awarded, collectively, to the First Special Service Force (FSSF) in recognition of its superior service during World War II. On February 3, 2015 surviving FSSF Veterans were in Washington DC to accept this momentous recognition on behalf of their fellow Forcemen who could not be there.
