He was the son of the late Charles C., Jr., and Gladys I. (Kline) Chronister.
Mr. Chronister was a retired truck driver, having worked for the former Jones Motor Freight, Camp Hill, and then L & H Trucking, Hanover. He served his country in the U.S. Army, and was a member of the American Legion Post 26, of Dillsburg, and the Liberty Fire Co., East Berlin. He was a life member of the V.F.W. Post 8896, East Berlin, Viking Athlectic Association, York, Home Association of McSherrystown, New Oxford Social and Athletic Club, and the McSherrystown Fish and Game Association.
He was the widower of Darlene "Dolly" M. (Shue) Chronister and is survived by his brother, Larry G. Chronister, of East Berlin.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Robert E. Chronister, and a sister, Betty M. Chronister.
