Age 97, a son of the late Michael and Mary Fuller Bentze.

He was employed by Parker-White Metal for 42 years, retiring in 1973. Parker-White Metal transferred him to Little Rock, Ark., to start up and manage Southwest Die Casting Co. from 1950 to 1952. He was a member of Holy Rosary Church, the Knights of Columbus, and the Parker-White Metal Quarter Century Club; and a life member of the East Erie Turners, the South Erie Turners and the Siebenbuerger Club. He enjoyed golf and bowling in the Grandpa League; and he built his own home.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Ann Franz; a son-in-law John Franz; two brothers, Michael and Carl Bentze and two sisters, Dorothy Peterson and Agnes Johnson.

He is survived by his wife Pearl M. Knablein Bentze to whom his was married 73 years, two daughters, Cynthia Marie Nitczynski and Karen Joan Zukowski and her husband Thaddeus, all of Erie; two sons, James Michael Bentze and his wife Barbara of Waterford and William Frank Bentze of North East; a sister, Helen Schaal and her husband Clarence of Erie; ten grandchildren; ten great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Entombment in Calvary Mausoleum.
