Lillian A. Gallaher, age 101, departed this life on March 3. She was born in 1911 to the late John W. and Rosa Martin Arrington and was the widow of Raymond R. Gallaher.

She was a lifetime member of Boonsboro Methodist Church and was a member of the Loyal Club and the Suburban Women's Club.

Predeceasing her were three brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her two daughters, Jean and husband Malcolm Ayers and Joyce and husband Weldon Preston, both of Forest. Also surviving are grandchildren: Todd (Becky) Morris, Keith Preston, Nicki (Edward) Huffman and Terry (Stacey) Preston and great-grandchildren: Jeffrey Morris, Joshua Morris, Joseph Morris, Dalton Huffman, Ashley Huffman, Meagan Preston and Mitchell Preston.

She is also survived by one sister-in-law: Polly Walsh and numerous nieces and nephews.

She would wish that special commendations be made to her exceptionally loving caregivers, Lucy Gillispie and Tammy Bell of Runk and Pratt Assisted Living Residence as well as many others at that facility.

A funeral service will be held at Boonsboro United Methodist Church at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 8 and the burial to follow at Fort Hill Memorial Park. Condolences may be offered to the family prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boonsboro United Methodist Church, 113 Coffee Road, Lynchburg, VA. 24503.
