Anton "Tony" M. Roberts, age 82, formerly of 1102 Nagle Avenue, Manitowoc, died Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center of Manitowoc.

Tony was born May 27, 1931 in Manitowoc County, son of the late Anton and Lydia (Kasten) Roberts. He went to school in Manitowoc and graduated with the class of 1949 from Lincoln High School. On March 17, 1951 Tony married the former Margery A. Daley at Holy Innocents Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death, July 6, 2012. He was employed as a truck driver for Olson Transportation, Motor Transport and retired from CW Transport. Following his retirement Tony was a crossing guard for the city of Manitowoc for 19 years at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church. Tony was an avid sports fan and loved the Badgers and Green Bay Packers. He was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Parish and a long-time member of Kenny's Athletic Club.

Tony is survived by his two sons and one daughter-in-law: John Roberts, Madison; Jeffrey (Mary) Roberts, Manitowoc; six daughters and four sons-in-law: Jeanne (Gary) Brunella, Menomonee Falls; Sarah (Donald) Knox, Neenah; Kay Allen, Appleton; Betsy (Scott) Johnson, Brookfield; Mary Davis, Manitowoc; Ann (Craig) Radey, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren: Ryan (Betsy) Roberts; Rachel (Todd) Tiffany; Talia (Chad) Nissen; Odeyssa Allen; Marcus Allen; Alyse Brunella; Allie Johnson; Lauryn Davis; one great granddaughter: Quinn Roberts; two sisters and one brother-in-law: Grace Peterson, Oxford, PA; Shirley (Keith) Christian, Manitowoc; three brothers-in-law and four sisters-in-law: Marion Daley, Manitowoc; Pat (Gail) Daley, Green Bay; Mike (Mary) Daley, Green Bay; Tom (Diane) Wiedel, Oak Creek, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents: Anton and Lydia Roberts; step-father: Walter Wehrwein; his wife: Margery Roberts; mother-in-law and father-in-law: Margaret & Joseph Daley; one sister and brother-in-law: Gladys (Roy) Peterson; three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law: Charles Peterson; Fritz (Rita) Tittl; Tom Daley; two nephews: Matthew Daley; David Tittl; one niece: Carol Peterson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, February 3, 2014 at St. Francis of Assisi on Waldo, 1121 North 14th Street, Manitowoc. Rev. Richard Klingeisen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial of his cremated remains will take place at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home of Manitowoc is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
