Bryant, IL - Neil E. Wilcox Sr., 65, of Bryant passed away at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at UnityPoint Health-Methodist in Peoria.

Neil was born on April 28, 1948 in Canton, Illinois, the son of Garthe and Beverly Jean (Johnson) Wilcox. He married Tresa Hadsall on July 14, 1977 at Canton.

She survives with two sons, James Joseph (Laura) Wilcox and Neil "Ed" (Amanda) Wilcox Jr.; three daughters, Janeile (Jerry) Bainter, Jennifer (Thurman) Fitch and Trish Wilcox; 21 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four brothers, Kevin (Elizabeth) Wilcox, Sharroll "Hoopie" Wilcox, Toby (Mary) Wilcox and William "Willie" (Martha) Wilcox; two sisters, Penny (Gerry) Goins and Dawn (Jim) Black; and his stepmother, Betty Wilcox.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Lynn Wilcox.

Neil worked at Caterpillar for 25 years in special trades. He later worked for Easly Mechanical in Canton for 7 years, and also worked as an independent contractor.

He was an Army veteran serving in Korea during the Vietnam era.

Burial will be in Waterford Cemetery, in rural Lewistown, where military rites will be accorded.
