Billie Lee Garner

Billie Lee Garner, 89, of Pittsburg, passed away at 2:05 a.m. Wednesday, January 29, 2014, at Medicalodges of Pittsburg.

She was born February 6, 1924 at Midway, KS, the daughter of Guy and Bessie (McCalester) Beasley.

She was united in marriage to Clifford Garner. He preceded her in death on May 4, 1972.

Mrs. Garner worked as a sales clerk for Gibson's and Kress.

She loved painting, bingo, lottery tickets, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two sons, Rex Garner and his wife Lori of Pittsburg, KS, and Charles Garner and his wife Theresa of Burlington, KS; two daughters Roberta Yates of Lisbon, IA, and Peggy Craven and her husband Dan of Lamar, MO; 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and an infant brother Harold Ray Beasley.

A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday (Jan. 31) at the Brenner Mortuary.

A private family burial will be held on Saturday, February 1, 2014, at the Mt. Olive Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10:00 a.m. on Friday to sign the register.

The family suggests memorials to the Shriner's Transportation Fund and/or Angels Among Us. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 E. 4th St., Pittsburg, KS 66762.
