Margaret "Peggy" (Brady) Slaughter of Tucson, AZ, passed away on January 20, 2014, in San Francisco, CA. She fought pancreatic cancer for many years and is an inspiration to us all.

She was born in Berkeley, CA, on September 15, 1948, to the late Doris (Wynne) Brady and Joshua Brady.

She had five siblings, Elizabeth, John, Bob (dec.), Jason (dec.) and Thomas.

After receiving a BA degree in English from UC Davis and an MS in education from Southern University, she married Dr. John Slaughter, resulting in two children, Jonathan and Emily Slaughter and three stepchildren, Capote, Courtland, and Cyrile Slaughter.

Margaret was a lifelong teacher who valued learning and creativity. She was a truly compassionate person who cherished time spent with loved ones, animals, plants, and the great outdoors.

She is survived by her five children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Margaret touched the lives of everyone she met with her generosity, humor, and loving spirit. She will be dearly missed.
