SHEFFIELD LAKE - Charlotte Adkins (nee Gunter), of Sheffield Lake, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, January 26, 2014, in Elyria following a short illness.

She was born April 18, 1940 in Greenville, Tennessee. She moved to Cleveland in 1957 and then to Sheffield Lake in 1985. Charlotte was an active member of the Avon Church of God and was a longtime volunteer at Avon Oaks Nursing Home where she held a Bible Study and helped with Sunday school.

She enjoyed attending church, shopping, making crafts, playing cards and spending time with her grandchildren and other family.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Eddie Adkins of nearly 42 years of Sheffield Lake; daughters, Charline Adkins-Herrmann (James) of Avon Lake and Anna Poe (Jim) of Westlake; sister Lela Cogar of Cleveland; her four dear grandchildren and many other family members.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Cora; father, Calvin; brothers, Clifford, Howard and Terry.

Her family will receive friends Wednesday, January 29th from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at Busch Funeral Home, 163 Avon Belden Road, Avon Lake, OH 44012. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 30th at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Timothy Adkins officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
