Junior Lewis "Poon" Ferguson, 84, of Collinsville, VA died Monday, January 27, 2014 at Memorial Hospital of Martinsville/Henry County, Martinsville, VA. He was born on August 21, 1929 to the late Euna Gordon Ferguson and Charles W. Ferguson in Henry County, VA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Steven C. Ferguson and brother, Bill Ferguson.

Mr. Ferguson retired as a lineman for the City of Martinsville and was of the Baptist faith. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of Amvets and a past member of F. O. E. Post 379.

Mr. Ferguson is survived by his daughters, Pam Southworth of Houston TX, Susan Wickline of Collinsville, VA and Robin Hutchinson and husband, Mike Hutchinson of Martinsville, VA; a son, Daryl Ferguson of Martinsville, VA, as well as, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 (noon) on Thursday, January 30, 2014 at Norris Funeral Services Martinsville Chapel in Martinsville, VA with Minister Lawrence Harris officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Norris Funeral Services and other times at the home of his daughter, Robin Hutchinson, 5998 Daniels Creek Road, Collinsville, VA. Burial will be at Roselawn Burial Park in Martinsville, VA.
