Brady Wallace "Tex" Harmon, 87 of New Prospect, passed away on Sunday, January 26, 2014 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Born on May 21, 1926 in Spartanburg County, he was the son of the late Reuben and Virgie Horne Harmon. He was the last surviving member of his siblings.

He was a self-employed farmer, carpenter, operator and owner of Harmon Grocery in New Prospect, and a retiree of Michelin Tire Corporation in Spartanburg, SC.

He was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church, Inman, SC.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Lois Kirby Harmon, and survived by son Wallace and daughter-in-law Cathy and daughter Kathy and son-in-law Donnie Ramsey. Four grandchildren, Jason Harmon, Tiffany Cooke (Andrew Cooke), Kevin Ramsey (Eva Ramsey), Daniel Ramsey, three great-grandchildren Simon Ramsey, David Cooke, and Daphne Ramsey and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at 10:00 am Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Seawright Funeral Home in Inman.

Services will follow at 11:00 am in the chapel conducted by Dr. Ron Gaddy, Rev. Bill Harris, and Dr. Paul Alverson.

Burial will be at Good Shephard Memorial Park in Boiling Springs, SC.

Pallbearers will be Doug Harmon, Allen Harmon, Tommy Burnett, Tim Williams, Les Green and Ed Rich.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to New Prospect Baptist Church Building Fund, 9321 Highway 9, Inman, SC

The family will be at the home of his daughter Kathy Ramsey of 6894 Highway 11, Campobello, SC 29322.
