Funeral Services for Lester Owen Held Wednesday

Funeral services for Lester Johnson Owen of Route 2, Lafayette were held Wednesday afternoon at the Bethany Missionary Baptist Church by Eld. Arnett Gregory assisted by Eld. J.D. Birdwell. Burial was in the Bethany Cemetery. Mr. Owen passed away Saturday night at Miller's Clinic at Nashville.

He was a native of Macon County, the son of the late William Groner and Laura Parkhurst Owen. He was married to Irene Sutton, July 25, 1920. She survives. He professed faith in early life and joined Bethany Missionary Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Wesley Clay Owen of Madison, one daughter, Mrs. Helen Kirby of Greenbrier, one brother Chester Owen of Red Boiling Spgs, 4 sisters, Mrs. Ethel Butler, Red Boiling Spgs.; Mrs. Edith Carter of Adolphus, KY; Mrs. Ida Gulley, Rte 2, Lafayette, Mrs. Ruby Forkum, Scottsville, KY; 3 grandchildren and 1 grt grandchild.
