She arrived in Quebec in 1644. Marie was left a widow with young children in 1661. She sold her half of their property to her oldest son on 2 April 1675, but repurchased it on 6 July 1679, only to resell it immediately to Joseph Pare.
Also living in Beauport was Paul de Rainville, a widow with five children. He was an educated man, that courted and then married Marie. They moved to Bellechasse and lived there until at least 1681, when they were listed in the census. They were living back in Beaufort again by 10 December 1686, when Paul de Rainville died. They had no children together.
She was under the protection of her daughter Anne, until she died. Marie was buried on 12 November in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre, Quebec. Many believe that Louis is also buried in Ste-Anne-de-Beaupre.
