Pierre was born about 1602, the son of Marsault Simard and Ozanne Souillet. He married (1) Catherine Boudier on 25 May 1631, in France. Pierre married (2) Suzanne Durand on 2 December 1635, in St-Pierre, Angouleme (this is the mother of Noel). He was a mason by trade.
He went to Quebec in 1654, with his son Noel, and remained there. Suzanne chose to stay in France and never did emigrate to Quebec. He died after 1681 when he was about 79 years.
