Anita Delle (Wolfenbarger) Adams was born on August 4, 1920, in Raymond, to Joseph and Nina (Sowers) Wolfenbarger. She passed away on November 20, 2010, at the age of 90, at the Willapa Harbor Care Center in Raymond, Washington. Her husband of 64 years, Donald Lee Adams, preceded her in death on May 12, 2005.
Anita graduated from Willapa Valley High School in 1938, the first graduating class in the new school. After attending Warner's Beauty School in Aberdeen, Anita worked for a couple of beauty shops and then opened her own shop on March 1, 1940, in a renovated chicken coop in Menlo. In 1944, she moved into a new shop, had it renovated in 1957, and in 1966, it was moved to its current location on Highway 6. After 57 years in the beauty business, she retired in March of 1997. Many will remember her kind nature and generosity.
She was a charter member of the Beta Sigma Phi Delta Master Sorority and an avid supporter of the Willapa Valley Schools.
Anita is survived by a sister, Jean Rugger of Shelton, a brother, David (Helen) Wolfenbarger of Raymond, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, Donald Shamley and Harold Shamley, and a sister, Josephine Mosney.
Remembrances can be made to the Pacific County Historical Society, the Willapa Valley Schools, or the charity of your choice.
There will be no services at this time. Arrangements are in care of Stoller's Mortuary in Raymond.
