He was the last of the Aubert brothers, all natives of L'Ubac, Jausiers, France, his brother Isidore having died 25 Jul 1862 at Vicksburg while serving in the Confederate Army; brothers Jean-Baptiste died 6 Jun 1866 and Jean-Louis died 18 Jun 1866, and Jacques died 26 Aug 1868. All were merchants. He had married Miss Julia Entremont in 1867 and she and two children survive.
