Mr. Martin spent his childhood on the family farm south of Brook, where he was born. For several years, he operated the Brook Bakery. On March 5, 1899, he was united in marriage to Olive Moore, who died in 1938. He was married to Mrs. Mary Woolley in November, 1939.
Surviving besides the widow are a son, Delmar, and five grandchildren. Also surviving are three sisters, Mrs. William Kough of Kewanna, Mrs. Lillie Hamacher of Valparaiso and Mrs. Rosa Dean of Brook, and two brothers, Thad and Ernest of Brook.
Funeral services were held at the Hershman funeral home on Tuesday afternoon. Rev. Williams of the Christian Church officiated and burial was made in Riverside cemetery.
