Early Life: Fred was born April 20, 1929, in Spanish Fork, Utah, to Gilbert Braithwaite Dedrickson and Alberta Larsen Dedrickson.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: On February 9, 1951, Fred married Margaret Jane Keifer in the Salt Lake Temple. Following graduation from Brigham Young University in 1951, he took a job as a chemist with Union Carbide Corporation. This employment took him and his family on many adventures in several states including Tennessee, Colorado, New York, Wyoming and Arkansas. He retired in 1985 and returned to Utah to be closer to family. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many callings, including: branch president, bishop and stake patriarch. He worked in the Provo Utah Temple for ten years and the Mount Timpanogos Utah Temple for two. He and his wife served a mission in the Utah Provo Mission from 1994 to 1995. Fred enjoyed the outdoors and loved to fish, camp and hunt. He also loved spending time with family at his cabin at Strawberry Reservoir. Fred lost his loving wife on February 18, 2011, after 60 years of marriage. He missed her greatly and looked forward to their reunion. Fred Larsen Dedrickson, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on January 22, 2014, in his home surrounded by his children. He was 84.
Survived By: His four children: Clifton (Margaret) Dedrickson of Hurricane, West Virginia; Susan (Brad) Coil of West Jordan, Utah; Janet (Dean) Blair of Grand Junction, Colorado; Martha (Jon) Lelegren of Sandy, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine Dyer, of Orem, Utah; and many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased By: His wife; a daughter, Karen Kay; his parents, Gilbert and Alberta; his brothers, Ray Gilbert Dedrickson and Dan Lee Dedrickson.
