VALLEY - Mr. Byron B. Bell, 90, of Valley died Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at his residence.
Funeral services are planned for Thursday, Jan. 23 at 2 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home Chapel in Valley with the Rev. Tim Bass officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfax Cemetery. Mr. Bell is survived by his sons, Jerone (Diane) Bell, Donald Bell and Kenneth (Denisa) Bell, all of Valley; a daughter, Judy (Don) Siggers of Dadeville; grandchildren, Jeremy (Donna) Bell, Tanner (Jennifer) Siggers, Tara (Jade) Snyder, Kade Bell, Donnie Siggers and Al Siggers; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Snyder, Sadie Snyder, Addison Siggers, Shelby Bell, Kamry Bell and Kaley Walden; a sister, Lucy Bell Henderson of Lanett; two brothers, Ray Bell of Cordova, Ala., and Charles Bell of Valley; and caregivers, Mattie Caldwell and Joyce Carr.
Mr. Bell was born Feb. 26, 1923, in Opelika. He loved his children and grandchildren. Mr. Bell was active in his church, Fairview Baptist Church in Valley, serving on the building and grounds committee for several years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Mr. Bell was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Catherine B. Bell.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in his memory to Chattahoochee Hospice or to Fairview Baptist Church.
The family will greet friends this evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
